Guided hike in the majestic Tsitsikamma, nestled in a Marine Reserve, surrounded by lush evergreen indigenous forest and waters of the Tsitsikamma, which hail from a Khoisan word meaning “abundance of water”. This trail lies along one of the most beautiful stretches of rugged coastline in the world with an ecosystem rich with protected marine species life. An abundance of animals life makes this trail a hikers dream. Sightings of the Blue duiker, Rock dassie, Vervet Monkeys and Chocma baboons are not uncommon. Be on the look out for beautiful bright red underwings of the Knysna loerie as it hops from treetop to treetop. If you lucky spot more of the many birds found in the forest like our very rare Narina trogan as well as the Yellowbilled kite, Fish eagle ect. Meet your guide for a brief safety briefing, hike from Misty Mountain Reserve declining from the cliff tops to the coast along forest steps, canopies where you can snorkel or enjoy a swim in the natural tide pool, rock hopping, build rock castle, all 4’s to climb up to waterfall up gradient and some technical sections – climb down and enjoy our a picnic where you can enjoy whale/dolphin watching, rock hopping, steep incline to the top, stairs, view of Tsitsikamma National Park, depart from the canopy of trees to the fynbos, meander along the path, take a breather at the lookout point 230m above sea level overlooking 180degree ocean view, back into the canopy of trees into the forest, enjoy the natural rock pool and hike back over the David Lane Trail, back to Misty for a well earned refreshment.
