Tsitsikamma Wild Side

Combo of Storms River Kayak & Lilo and 1 Hour Quad Bike Tour @ Tsitsikamma National Park

Storms River Mouth and Tsitsikamma

Activity Description

“Our favourite!” The 2 hour Storms River Kayak & Lilo Adventure is our most popular adventure activity in Tsitsikamma National Park! If you are keen to explore deeper into the Storms River Gorge in Tsitsikamma, and experience the long, deep, quiet pools, then the Kayak and Lilo trip is for you!

We paddle from the Harbour next to the small beach across the ocean, then under the Suspension Bridge and up the beautiful Storms River Mouth. Please note that if the sea is rough, you have to hike to the Suspension Bridge (along a boardwalked trail), where we then hike along the river from the suspension bridge up to the jetty to where you then get on onto your kayaks. This 1km hike takes about 30 min

This is where the true Kayaking adventure begins – paddling the Storms River, the pinnacle of Tsitsikamma National Park. After waving to all the tourists photographing you from the Suspension Bridge, we continue the kayak trip up the Stormsriver. We paddle right into the bats cave and spend time gazing up at the magnificent and spectacular cliffs all around us, all from the comfort of our double sit-on-top kayaks.

At the low-water point we disembark our kayaks and we jump on our unique Lilo’s. (a Lilo is an inflatable mattress that we’ve had specially made for this trip). From here we walk and float over a short section of rocks and simply wade deeper up the river on the Lilo’s. What a stunning view it is, laying on a Lilo at water level, and gazing up to cliffs that touch the sky! At reaching a certain point, we simply turn our Lilo’s around and float back down river to our Kayaks!

Customer Reviews

THE RAINS SPOILED WHAT WOULD HAVE BEEN AN ADVENTURE, I TOOK A PERSON WHO HAS NEVER TRIED RIDING OR DRIVING ANY THING BUT THE GUIDE WAS SO GOOD SUCH THAT SHE RODE THE BIKE SMOOTHLY ALL THE WAY. IF YOU ARE AFRAID OF RIDING A BIKE, DONT WORRY,THOSE GUYS WILL HAVE YOU RIDING IN A MINUTE. - NDABEZINHLE MAGUTSHWA

It was honestly the best quad bike ride ever, a big thanks to Marcgo (not sure if I'm saying it properly), he was honestly the best guide and very talkative. Excellent service from him and we even got a selfie with him! My wife and I would definitely love to return and do it again sometime. - Liam Page

We had a brilliant tour on the quad bikes through Tsitsikamma national park, our group was four adults and our three children. Our guide Wilmot was excellent, we stopped to see wildlife and for the beautiful scenery. It was a great excursion, definitely highly recommend it. - Liz Rump

Prima geregeld met leuke en vriendelijke medewerkers. Pauze met een watertje onderweg, goed geregeld allemaal. - Dick Van Munster

We had the luck to be alone so we really could fully enjoy the ride. Even my wife who was a little bit afraid in the beginning liked the experience. The location is beautiful and the equipment and safety measures are respected and in a good state. The guide was a young positive person who was continuously looking and taking care of our group. The winter sun was the cherry on the cake and the lookout on the bay had an extra feature because a whale was splashing his tail and this created a breathtaking spectacle and sound. Don't hesitate to book, It's worth to have the opportunity - Gert Lathouwers
